You shoudn't copy team comps largely because the popular 'best' teams aren't actually that good. If you use one of the best teams, life is just easy. There is, however, a clear hierarchy of teams. So whether to create your own or not is down to whether you feel like doing SCIENCE! or not. So, teams as dumb as OCC-OCC-OCC-OCC are viable. Any generally solid team can go anywhere. The differences between areas are over-hyped.
